Sunday, November 04, 2012 3:34 PM Elmer Lentz, Jr., 83, of LaMonte, passed away Friday evening November 2, 2012 at his home.   He was born on January 13, 1929, in Jackson County, MO, a son of Elmer Levi and Leta Maude (Hughes) Lentz. On September 1, 1951, in Eureka Springs, AR, he was united in marriage to Emma Louise Williams, who survives of the home.   He enjoyed fishing, bowling, driving through the county side, camping and traveling. Farming was his passion; he raised cattle, hogs and row crops. Elmer built and owned the Muddy Creek General Store, which he helped run for eight years. He was a former member of the LaMonte Masonic Lodge, past president of the Pettis County Pork Producers, Knob Noster Bass Club and a Dekalb seed dealer for over 25 years. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from March 1947 until January 1950. He lived most of his life in LaMonte.   Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, John Lentz and his wife Cindi, of LaMonte, Jo Ellen Beeman and her husband David, of Windsor and Michael Lentz of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Lentz and his wife Jennifer, Joshua Lentz and his wife Sara, Sandi Beeman and Drew Beeman; four great grandchildren, Maddox Lentz, Chloe Lentz, Hannah Lentz and Levi Lentz.   He was preceded in death by his parents.   A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center with Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Rea Funeral Chapel.   Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City.
