Ethel Bredehoeft, age 85, of Lincoln, formerly of Alma, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia, Missouri. She was born on September 4, 1927, in Concordia, Missouri, the daughter of Fritz and Hulda Stumpenhaus Fricke.

She grew up in Alma, Missouri and on October 5, 1947, she was united in marriage to Willard Bredehoeft at Emma, Missouri. They lived most of their life on a farm near Alma where they worked together in the daily operations of the farm.

In 1980, they moved to the Warsaw/Lincoln area. Ethel enjoyed quilting and cooking and canning. She and Willard had prepared apple butter during Heritage Days in Warsaw for 20 years, sharing many samples of their delicious craft.

Ethel was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willard, on May 5, 2011, a son, Donald Bredehoeft and five brothers, Arvel, Virgil, Vernon, Oscar and Lavern Fricke.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie Skelton, and husband, David, of Warrensburg and Kathy Wilborn of Syracuse, seven grandchildren, Amy Stilfield (Eric) of Sedalia, Tim Evert (Janet) of Warrensburg, Jeff Evert (Jennifer) of Holden, Sara Lentz (Josh) of Green Ridge, Daniel Skelton (Monica) of Grain Valley, Matt Skelton (Jackie) of Warrensburg and Stephanie Guin (Ryan) of Lee's Summit, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Clarence Fricke of Emma and a sister, Shirley Colson, of Sedalia, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ethel Bredehoeft will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, MO, with Pastor Leonard Poppe officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Blackburn, MO. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday evening at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, Lincoln, MO.
