Eugene W. Brockman, 86, of La Monte, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron.

He was born February 6, 1928, in Cole Camp, son of Wilbur and Amelia Weinberg Brockman. On December 18, 1948, in Sedalia, he married Sue Belle Kindle, who died December 7, 2007.

Mr. Brockman was a farmer and owned Brockman Cafe at the Missouri State Fair for 50 years. He enjoyed yard work, flower gardening and fishing. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are three children: Roger Brockman, of La Monte, Peg Nelson, of Gladstone, and David Brockman, of New York, NY; three grandchildren: Angie, Lance and Zachary; three great-grandchildren: Alex, Shelby and Zoe; and a sister: Beulah Ehlers, of Sedalia.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Brockman; and two brothers, Melvin and Vern Dean Brockman.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Corbett Martin officiating.

Casket bearers will be Roger Brockman, David Brockman, Lance Nelson, Zach Brockman, Alex Nelson and Blair Schulman.

Burial will be in La Monte Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 2591.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.
