Events by Eventful2013 Bob James Jazz Festival

Bob James is coming home again to join us for the 2013 festival. He’ll be our special guest, and the featured artist will be artist and blues guitarist Mike Henderson, who (like Mr. James) grew up in Marshall.

The festival will begin with a blues concert Friday, May 17, at Eckilson-Mabee Auditorium on the Missouri Valley College campus. Saturday, the focus shifts to jazz as Mr. James will again kick things off with a master class in the morning followed by a jazz performance clinic coordinated by Kansas City Youth Jazz Director Clarence Smith. Saturday evening’s concert will begin with the Clinic All-Stars, a group consisting of clinic participants who wish to show what they’ve learned during the day.
