Additional Information

Our guest artists for this concert will be the recipients of the Harold J. Johnston Memorial Scholarship.

In observance of the Sedalia Symphony’s 80th season, we are pleased to offer three $1000 scholarships this spring.  In the past we have awarded only two.  Performances by our scholarship winners continue to be a highlight of our spring concert.

This will be a special concert season for the Sedalia Symphony Orchestra which was started in 1935 at the suggestion of the ladies of the Helen G. Steele Music Club.  Eighty consecutive concert seasons is a milestone to be noted and celebrated.

Last, but not least, we celebrate the many orchestra members, past and present, whose dedication has moved us forward through the years, along with conductors Abe Rosenthal, Harold J. Johnston, and our present conductor Gwendolyn Kappelman.
