The annual 40 & 8 Memorial Day picnic will be at Liberty Park on Monday, May 25, 2015.
The American Flag retirement ceremony will happen at 11:30 a.m. with the proper way to retire the American Flag.
The picnic will begin at 12:30 with hamburger, hot dog, baked beans, potato chips and a soft drink for $5.
All proceeds will go to maintain the American Flags on Ohio Street, maintain the World War 1 rail car on the Missouri State Fairgrounds, provide the cadet of the month plaques and trophies during the year to the Smith-Cotton JROTC program, co-sponsor the Veterans Day Parade with the JROTC, sponsor bingo and work bingo each month at the veterans home in Warrensburg. Work with the Show-Me Christian Youth Home in their scholarship program and provide a nurse's scholarship for $500 for qualified applicans.
