State Fair Community College nursing students will sponsor a free public health fair from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 3 in the Thompson Conference Center in the Heckart Science and Allied Health Center on the Sedalia campus.
The students, who will graduate in May with associate degrees in nursing, will present information on more than 20 health topics, from autism, blood pressure, diabetes, heart attack symptoms and prevention, cancer awareness and prevention, to adolescent obesity, food safety, human papilloma virus (HPV), sleep health and disorders, tobacco use, and oral health. Blood pressure screenings will also be available.
The free health fair is part of Healthy People 2020, a national initiative that challenges individuals and communities to take steps toward good health.
