Additional Information

The El Dorado Saddle Club, Hoofprints Stables and Boys & Girls Clubs of West
Central Missouri are teaming up on Saturday, Nov. 17 to present the first annual “Teach & Trot”. This is an equine event sure to pique the interest of both the horse-savvy and those who have never had an introduction to the world of horsemanship. Teach & Trot will take place at Hoofprints Stables at 6925 E. Highway 50, about three miles east of Sedalia. Beginning at 9 a.m, experienced horse handlers will offer the public demonstrations ranging from horse healthcare to horse shoeing to dressage. Presenters will include local large
animal veterinarian, and Club board member, Dr. Dana Gillig, professional ferrier and trainer Rod Sullivan, and 2012 Youth of the Year at Heber Hunt Elementary Shaye Siegel.

In addition to these informative demonstrations, the Saddle Club will provide horse and pony rides for all ages, and a Kid’s Carnival with crafts and face painting will be offered.
Admission for Teach & Trot is a free-will donation. Horse rides and some children’s activities will be available for an additional fee. The event lasts until 5 p.m., and the Smithton Boys & Girls Club Torch Club members will offer a nominally priced lunch. All the day’s proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri.
