Fatal Accident Reported in Benton County Tuesday Morning

Just before noon on Tuesday the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a fatality accident on Route “BB” Just East of Hare Drive in Benton County. According to the report the accident occurred as the 1995 Ford F-150 driven by 80-year-old Jack L. Flynn of Warsaw failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the centerline, and struck a 2014 Kenworth driven by Zachary A.  Igou of Independence Missouri head-on. Flynn was pronounced deceased at the scene, by the Benton County Coroner. Igou received moderate injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Warsaw Lincoln Ambulance for treatment. The report states Flynn was not wearing his seat belt.

Wentzville Teen suffers serious injuries in a Lafayette County accident Tuesday

At 9:40pm Tuesday night the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a motorized bicycle accident on the South outer road at Black Jack Road in Lafayette County. The report states the accident happened when the rider of a 2006 TNG Motorized Bicycle, 18-year-old Johnathon B. Shackleford of Wentzville failed to stop at a stop sign, and struck a guardrail. Shackleford was ejected from the bicycle and suffered serious injuries. He was transported by Life Flight Air EMS to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment.
