Fatal Accident Reported In Johnson County Monday Morning

At 5:34 this (Monday) morning the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a fatality accident on US-50 Highway west of northwest 1801 Road in Johnson County. The accident reportedly occurred as a 2001 Ford Ranger driven by 28-year-old John A. Stewart of Warrensburg overtook and struck the rear of a 1996 Mack Dump- Truck driven by Kellee C. Smith of Bates City. The accident report states the vehicle came to rest and Stewart was removed from the vehicle, which then became mostly engulfed in flames, and burned in the roadway. Stewart was taken to Sweeney-Phillips Funeral Home in Warrensburg. Smith received minor injuries, and decided to seek her own medical treatment.
