Fatal Accident Reported in Pettis County

One person has died after a vehicle accident in Pettis County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

26-year-old Daniel Heaton, of Sedalia, was traveling near Route O, north of Salem Road at 1:05 Friday afternoon. Heaton crossed the center line, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck an embankment. Heaton's vehicle came to a rest, upright in a ditch. Heaton was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, and was ejected from the vehicle. Heaton was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Pettis County EMS and pronounced dead at 2:09 p.m.
