Pedestrian Train Accident Kills a 28-Year-Old Sedalia Man

At 1:23 Thursday afternoon the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a fatality accident involving a train and a pedestrian. The accident happened along Highway 50 West of Highway “TT” in Pettis County. The accident occurred as a pedestrian identified as 28-year-old Alex J. Neighbors of Sedalia was walking Northbound, and laid down on railroad tracks. The accident report states the train driven by the Engineer Ellis R. Lister of Kansas City Missouri applied emergency brakes, but was unable to stop, and struck Neighbors. The victim was pronounced dead at Bothwell Regional Health Center at 2:05pm Thursday afternoon.
