Floyd F. “Tad” Self, 70, of Houstonia, MO went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Warrensburg. He was born September 11, 1944 in Sedalia, son of Riley A. and Alta B. Self. He was married November 17, 1966 to Peggy Bales who survives of the home.

Tad graduated from Smith Cotton in 1962. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. He graduated from the Central Missouri State University with honors. He owned and operated Floyd Self, CPA until his retirement. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Matthew Self (Melissa), of Grain Valley, MO, and Marcus Self (Devenia), of Blue Springs, MO; one daughter, Andrea Self, of Houstonia, MO; six grandchildren, Wesley, Brandon, Grant, Cordell, Lydia, and Truman; and two sisters, Mary M. Schuh, of Edmonds, WA, and Pat A. Adair, of Rolla, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gene W. Self and Riley F. Self; and a granddaughter, Mary Self.

Memorial services will be held on Friday May 29, 2015  at 2:00 p.m. at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO, with Pastor Dan Hankins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to the Veterans Assistance League (VAL) or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
