Frances R. Goldsmith, 87, formerly of Sedalia, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City.

She was born December 5, 1927, in Montrose, daughter of Hershel Francis Parks and Lucille Belle Wood Parks. On March 6, 1949, in Sedalia, she married Robert Goldsmith, who died May 21, 2011.

Mrs. Goldsmith was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Vacation Bible School and first grade Sunday School for many years. She and Bob enjoyed traveling in their motor home. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed gardening and canning. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She retired from Inter-State Studio.

Surviving are two daughters, Janet Drenon (Ken), of Jefferson City, and Melody Clinton (Doug), of Sycamore, IL; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Young, of Lone Jack, and Wilma Bishop, of Kansas City.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dixie England; and a great-granddaughter, Anna Grace Summers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 22, at First Baptist Church in Sedalia, with the Rev. Marlin Brown officiating.

Casket bearers will be Matthew Hallsell, Christopher Hallsell, Roger Eckerle, David Bergman, Austin Clinton, Doug Clinton and Ken Drenon.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church.

Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
