Frank Ray Vanderpool, Sr., 87, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. He was born on April 13, 1927 in Rolf, IA, a son of Noble and Ola (Lankford) Vanderpool, who preceded him in death.

He was united in marriage to Freda Joslen, who preceded him in death.

Frank enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being outdoors. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2591 and the American Legion Post 642. Frank served his country honorably through the Second World War in the United States Army.

He is survived by two children, Frank Vanderpool , Jr. (Carol) of Sedalia, and Barbara Wallace (Jim) of Sedalia; one sister, Doris Martin of Redfield, IA; twelve grandchildren; and thirty-one great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry Vanderpool; four sisters; four brothers; and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. of Friday, April 3, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastor Jim Downing officiating.

The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, with full military honors conducted by the VFW Post 2591.

Pallbearers will be Frank Vanderpool III, Doug Wallace, Ross McGinnis, and Mike Wallace.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mid Mo Humane Society in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
