Frank Wesley Donath, 94, of Gardner, KS, passed away October 24, 2014 at his home. Inurnment 1:00 pm Thursday, October 30, 2014 in La Monte Cemetery, La Monte, MO. Frank was born February 26, 1920 in Sedalia, MO to William John and Francis Bertha (Johnson) Donath. He was a 1939 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia. Frank served in the U S Army during WWII from Nov. 1942 – Dec. 1945. Frank married Kathryn June Watts in 1951 in Sedalia. He worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and then Bendix in Kansas City where he was a machinist in military weapons manufacturing. After retiring in Dec. 1983 after 31 years of service, he and his wife Kathryn moved back to Sedalia and then four years ago they moved to Gardner to be with their daughter. He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. Frank loved to read and could retain everything he read. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Frank will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathryn, son Phil Donath, siblings Hazel Cline, Ann Mosby, Shirley Moore, Betty Perrin, Horrace Donath, Bill Donath and Donnie Donath. Frank is survived by his daughter Diane Penland of Gardner, grandchildren Heather Webb and husband Andrew and Erin McCreary and husband Scott and great grandchildren Avery, Hayden and Hannah.
