Franklin Leo Walz, 90, of Green Ridge, died Friday, March 18, 2016, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born February 12, 1926, in Postal, son of George L. and Emma Ida Bail Walz.

He was married to the late Charlotte Phillips and the late Wanda Eichholz.

Frank served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a farmer and worked for Pittsburg Corning for 34 years, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of Green Ridge Presbyterian Church and the Green Ridge American Legion. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Eichholz, of the home, Merle Ragar (Mike), of Sedalia, and Terry Walz, of Killeen, TX; a son, Tom Walz (Ginger), of La Monte; two grandsons; three granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, George Walz, of Kansas City; and a sister, Lucy Christian, of Lee’s Summit.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheri Dove; four brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastors Randy and Dianna Marcum officiating.

Casket bearers will be Matt Dove, Jamie Dove, Joe Walz, Tracy Schroeder, John Dove, Kent Scotten, John Kreisel and Sam Dove.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 2591.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cheri Dove Memorial Scholarship or Green Ridge Presbyterian Church.
