Jamie Volk, Sedalia Fire Department Inspector, paid us a visit to discuss the upcoming Free, Installed Smoke Alarms event that’s available to residents of Pettis County.

The Red Cross, along with other community partners, has teamed up with the Sedalia Fire Department to ensure homes in the Sedalia area have smoke alarms. They will even take the work out of it, making sure that the alarms are installed and in working order. The Sedalia event is scheduled for April 30 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. If you live outside of the city limits, you can set up an appointment with the fire department.

Jamie made sure to let us know that anyone in Pettis County needing a smoke alarm is eligible for the detector and install. There is no charge for the smoke alarm or for the installation. If you or someone you know lives in Pettis County and is in need of a smoke detector, you can call 660-826-8044 or visit Sedalia Fire Department for more information.
