Gary Wayne Christian, 71, of Sedalia, died Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born May 9, 1941, in Sedalia, son of Edward M. and Ruth Marie Sowers Christian. On September 3, 2001, in Eureka Springs, AR, he married Bonnie Cole Arnett, who survives of the home.   Mr. Christian was a district manager for Hewlett-Packard. He enjoyed camping, trout fishing and any outdoor activity. He was instrumental in the movement to stock trout in the Liberty Park lagoon. He was a Little League football coach and a member of the Society of Analytical Chemists. He was active in the building of the Covered Bridge replica in Centennial Park.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Shelli Dale, Debbi McAfee and Gennifer Christian, all of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister, Judy O'Brien, of Odessa; two grandchildren, Kevin McAfee, 9, and Anna McAfee, 6; and a great-granddaughter, Avery Adkins, 4.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Adkins.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jared Wheeler officiating.   Casket bearers will be Dennis Houk, Jim Kresse, Ed Bone, Junior Jeffries, Richard Arnett Jr. and Cole Gibson. Honorary bearers will be Jack Clark and Bill Noland.   Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
