George “Danny” Briggs, 74, of Knob Noster, Missouri, died late Saturday night, February 9, 2013, at the Rest Haven Nursing Home, Sedalia, Mo.   Danny was born July 26, 1938, in rural Benton County, Mo., near Warsaw, the son of Arthur Roy Briggs and Gracie Pearl (Cole) Briggs.  On July 21, 1956, in Clinton, Mo., he married Ila Fern Wilson who survives of the home.   Danny worked for the United States Postal Service, at several Post Offices in the Kansas City area, for 36 years before his retirement.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially going to Colorado to trout fish.  Danny was a former member of the Hickory Hills Baptist Church, Warrensburg, and was a current member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Roseland, Mo., where he had served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.   In addition to his wife, Danny is survived by a son, Daniel Bruce Briggs, Green Ridge, Mo.; 2 daughters, Peggy Sue Linn, Holden, Mo.; Ruby Danette Pruitt, Peculiar, Mo.; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jim Briggs, Windsor, Mo.; Dick Briggs, Creighton, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob Briggs; a nephew, Robert Briggs and a sister-in-law, Sharon Briggs.   Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 12, 2013, 1:30 p.m., at the Hadley Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Aery officiating.  Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Roseland, Mo.  Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.  The family suggests contributions to the Mt.
