Georgie Llew Baslee-Huff, 81, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

She was born Georgie Llew Haack, on November 27, 1930, in King City, MO. She was the youngest daughter of Albert Julias and Mary Ellen Cooper-Haack. Georgie attended school in King City and was baptized at the King City Baptist Church. After graduating high school, she met and married Theodore Emil Baslee on July 24, 1949 in the home of her sister, Dixie. They remained in King City for several years and from this union were four daughters. They later moved to Sedalia where she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Kateman. She then attended college while working as a nurse’s aide at Bothwell Regional Hospital and retired after 20 years.

After the passing of her husband on September 4, 1989, she later met and married William J. “Bill” Huff, of Hamilton, MO. They were married on June 1, 1996 at her home in Sedalia and soon moved to his hometown of Hamilton.

Georgie is survived by her husband; daughters Dixie Ruth Sanders (Jerry), of Garden City, MO, Deana Williams, Joyce Dale and Cerita Stewart (Richard), all of Sedalia; her step-children, Billy Joe, of Hamilton, James, of Nettleton, MO and Mindy Pulliam (Kenny), of Breckonridge, MO; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and three sisters.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Maplewood Baptist Church, 25396 Hwy. O, Sedalia, MO 65301, with Pastor Bobby Kent officiating. She asked that her body be donated to medical research. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice, or a charity of the donor’s choice, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
