Gerald F. West, 79

Gerald F. West, 79, of Warsaw, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born January 31, 1936, in Bogard, son of Elmer and Inez West, who preceded him in death.

On December 23, 1983, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Barbara A. Mitchell, who survives of the home.

Gerald was a graduate of Carrollton High School and served honorably in the U.S. National Guard. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael S. Morales, Rita Rene Morales, Alysia Ann Morales and Patricia Sue (West) Shenkel; one brother, Norman West; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ivan Dale West.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Heckart Funeral Home, officiated by Rene’ Morales and Jamie Shenkel.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
