Gordon Douglas Hunsaker, 81, of Sedalia, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Home.

He was born November 5, 1931, in Ava, MO, son of Harrison Hector Harrold and Jessie Mae Points Hunsaker. He was married to Betty LaVern Lindsey, who preceded him in death. On September 4, 1980, in Miami, OK, he married Doris June Jones Paxton, who preceded him in death on January 20, 2011.

Mr. Hunsaker was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1949-1952. He was a craftsman and built houses. He worked as a roofer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are three children: Nancy A. Pummill (David), of Sedalia, Harrold A. Hunsaker, of Sedalia, and Dora D. Freeman (James), of Green Ridge; four step-children: Donna Riley, Deborah Lange (Donald), Ellen Lange (Rick), and David Paxton, Jr., all of Sedalia; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Frank and George Hunsaker; and a sister, Geraldine Gillette.

He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Douglas Hunsaker; five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Burial will be later in Crown Hill Cemetery.
