Grandview Man Killed in Fatal Accident in La Monte

At 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a fatality accident on US 50 Highway at Highway 127 in La Monte, Mo.

According to the accident report, the accident occurred as the 2008 Chevrolet driven by 28-year-old James W. Ellis of Grandview, Mo., failed to yield to oncoming traffic and pulled into the path of a 2005 Chevrolet driven by 24-year-old Christie Thomason of Holden. The Thomason vehicle struck the Ellis vehicle on the driver’s side, totaling both vehicles.

Ellis suffered fatal injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Pettis County Ambulance. Thomason received serious injuries in the crash and was transported to University of Missouri Medical Center by Air Ambulance for treatment.
