Sacred Heart volleyball went 0-2 in their match against the Hickman Kewpies Monday night at home.

In the Gremlins first set against the Hickman, the Kewpies came out strong getting an early lead that carried to 22-14 over the gremlins. Sacred Heart was able to get a run late in the first match bringing the game to 22-21.

Even though they fought hard, the gremlins were not able to gain the advantage. The Gremlins ended up losing the set 23-25.

The second set was another slow start for the gremlins who seemed to be lacking in their serve receive. They were unable to side out for the first eight points of the second set. The gremlins ended up getting a run that brought the game to 17-22, but were unable to overcome the major deficits brought on by the Kewpies early in the second set.

"This match brought some things to our attention that need some work to get us prepared for the rest of our season. Good defense is the key to the game and we have to find a way to get that taken care of," coach Villalobos said.

Sacred Heart (3-2) play Lincoln (2-2) at home Tuesday night.
