You've probably heard of Healthy U.  It's a big project that encourages Sedalians to get on the ball and get healthy.  We all know we should do it, but it can be very daunting and a little confusing.  So that's why it's important to have some help so you don't get overwhelmed.

Healthy U describes itself as a year-long, highly visible weight-loss competition for 12 people chosen through an application process. The 12 Healthy U participants are paired with a fitness coach and a nutrition coach, and document their journey through media, social media and community events.

They're accepting applications, and if you'd like to get involved, I had one of the head honchos, Megan Webb, tell us about the process.

Healthy U, in partnership with Sedalia Parks and Recreation and the University of Central Missouri student dietetic association is also offering a series of healthy cooking classes. The classes are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:30-7:00 p.m. through Nov. 14, skipping the week of Halloween.  Even if you don't get into the Healthy U program, you can always join them for some tips on how to cut corners with your food without cutting flavor.  For more information, contact Megan Webb hupettiscounty@gmail.com.

Healthily yours,

Behka
