Hilda A. Morgan, 97, of Sedalia, died Friday, November 14, 2014 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

She was born February 21, 1917 in Farmer City, IL, the daughter of Walter and Eva L. (Hall) Reeser.

Mrs. Morgan was raised and educated in Farmer City, before relocating to Missouri. Then on April 17, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, she married Leon “Jim” Morgan who preceded her in death on July 25, 1998. They settled on a farm in Green Ridge for many happy years and raised their children. She was very active in the community, as well as being a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a long time member of the Rebekah Lodge and was recognized for her 70 years of service in addition to 50-plus years of community service.

She is survived by her son Jack C. Morgan, and his wife Donna, of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Crystal Meyer, Melody Cea and her husband, Don, Jason Morgan and Chad Morgan, all of Sedalia; five great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joe Morgan; two brothers and three sisters.

Hilda lived a long and happy life and was beloved by all who knew her. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Green Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Crossroads Hospice, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
