Homer William Jaeger, 89, of Gravois Mills, died Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Laurie Care Center in Laurie.

He was born December 25, 1925, in Smithton, son of the late Edward William Jaeger and Muriel Marie Homan Jaeger.

On November 17, 1946, in Sedalia, he married Betty Joyce Overby, who died January 6, 2009.

Mr. Jaeger was a lifelong farmer and owned and operated Sedalia Supply Company for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of Smithton United Methodist Church. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Bryant (Ed), of Gravois Mills, and Terri Mills (John), of Jefferson City; a son, Roger Jaeger (Connie), of Ashland; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Carter officiating.

Casket bearers will be James Bryant, Zebadiah Jaeger, Nick Gerke, Larry Jaeger, Josh Steele and Cole Heimsoth.

Honorary bearers will be H.H. "Luge" Luetjen, Horace Miera, Terry Hazel, Val Ites, Irene Smith and Chris Heimsoth.

Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy and VFW Post 2591.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Central Missouri Honor Flight.
