In the last week, the Sedalia area has gotten more than two feet of snow.  Activities have been cancelled, schools closed and places of employment have shut down.  The secondary roads have proven a challenge if they are passable at all.  Add to that the fact that many people lost power along the way.  That's when it happens.  The kids look to their parents and say those two words that elicit the same response as fingernails on a chalkboard.  Their tiny voices look up and say "I'm bored."

I've heard of some parents getting out a deck of cards or board games to play.  Others bundle the kids up and go outside and build snowmen.  The people with 4X4 vehicles have ventured out just to break up the monotony.
