Howard Leon Hutcherson, 55, of Smithton passed away October 25, 2015 in Brunswick, MO.  He was born on April 5, 1960 in Marshall, MO the son of William Leon Hutcherson, who survives of Stover, and Beverly Darlene Gibson, who preceded him in death in 2006.

Howard was raised on a farm in rural Sweet Springs, MO where he attended the R7 school. The family moved to Sedalia in 1975, where he attended Smith-Cotton High School until his graduation in 1978. Howard held many jobs throughout his life, including the railroad and the highway department. He also held jobs in construction, welding, and farming.

Howard enjoyed a simple life, living in the country and his favorite pastime was canoeing. He rescued many animals and he was an avid Nascar and Kansas City Royals fan. He enjoyed listening to music, particularly REM. He was quite a lady's man and always had a smile on his face.

Besides his father, he is survived by three sisters, Kelly Chaplin (Greg) of Smithton, MO, Laura Lenz (Todd) of Jefferson City, MO, and Sherrie Schmidt (Paul) of Leavenworth, KS; two nephews, Jacob and Travous; a niece, Katie; and many friends.
Besides his mother he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Garnett Leon and Mary Hutcherson; and maternal grandparents Howard and Mabel Lowry.

It was Howard's wishes that there would be no services.

Burial of the ashes will be held at a later date in Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall, MO.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Current River State Park or the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
