Ida Margaret McCoy, 88, of Shawnee, Kansas, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Shawnee Garden in Shawnee, Kansas.  She was born on March 22, 1927, at Higginsville, Missouri, a daughter of Marvin DeWayne and Muriel Lavanah (Prosser) Morris.

She was raised in Corder, Lexington, Napoleon, and Kansas City.  After graduating from North East High School in Kansas City, she worked as a salesperson for Montgomery Wards. On February 5, 1945, in Johnson County Kansas, she was united in marriage to Harry Neal McCoy, who preceded her in death on November 24, 2012.

After her daughter Harriet was born, she stayed at home until Harriet started kindergarten and then went to work for Allen Marking Products in Kansas City, where she engraved the first 707 Boeing jetliner instrument panel.  In 1986, she moved to Golden Acres on the Lake of the Ozarks.  After her husband Harry passed away, she moved to Sedalia but still enjoyed going to the lake home.  She loved riding motorcycles and bought her first Harley-Davidson in 1955 and her 74 blue electra glide in 1966.  She took a six-week trip to ride to Canada and had rode through the United States on vacations.  She liked playing Bingo with her friends and was a member of the Red Hat Show Me Ladies with a Hatittude.

She is survived by:
her daughter, Harriet Diane Dittemore of Shawnee, Kansas;
two grandchildren, Kenneth Neal Dittemore and Margaret Mary Bright; and
six great-grandchildren, Guyon Bright, Michael Dittemore, Tyler Bright, Nicholas Dittemore, Kopper Bright, and Finn Bright.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Muriel Morris, her brother, John Morris, and her son-in-law, Roy Harold Dittemore.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.  Burial will be in Brushy Creek Cemetery, rural Lincoln.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Brushy Cemetery in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.

Pallbearers will be Neal Dittemore, Guy Bright, Jim Johnson, Russell Bascone, Guyon Bright, Michael Dittemore, Tyler Bright, Nicholas Dittemore and Kopper Bright.
