Independence Man Killed in Clinton County Accident

A 28-year-old Independence man was killed early on January 1 in an accident in Clinton County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Brandon M. Scott was driving a 2000 Ford Mustang and failed to stop at the intersection of Rt. A and Rt. H. The vehicle traveled off the road, struck a hedge post and came to rest on its side. Scott was pronounced dead around 1:15 a.m. by the Clinton County Coroner. The Patrol's online crash report indicates Scott was not wearing a safety device.

The Mustang was totaled and towed from the scene.
