Infant Fatally Shot During Domestic Disturbance

Police in the southeast Missouri town of Cape Girardeau are investigating the shooting death of an infant.

The Southeast Missourian reports that the child was killed around 2:30 a.m. Monday during a domestic disturbance.

The name and gender of the child have not been released. It wasn’t immediately clear if an arrest has been made but Sgt. Rick Schmidt says police are waiting to speak with the prosecutor’s office before releasing further details.
