Irvin L. Parks age 87 of Sedalia passed away on Monday, Dec.30, 2013 at his home.

He was born on September 4, 1926 in Henry County, Missouri son of Ural and Ella Hutson Parks. On December 28, 1947 he married Elva Lee Maxwell and she preceded him in death on February 3, 1981. Then on October 10, 1981 in Sedalia he married June (Purdy) Lamb and she survives of the home. Irvin graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1945.

He attended Rolla School Of Mines. He served in the Army during W W ll. He worked as a engineer for forty years at Pittsburg Corning retiring in 1990. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the 40 & 8.

He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Besides his wife he is survived by one son: Barry Parks and wife Audrey of St. Joseph, Missouri, three daughters: Kathy Kessner, Columbus, Ohio, Patty Wood and husband Pat of La Monte, Debby Sanders and Jim of Sedalia, one sister: Anita Farley of Weslaco, Texas, one stepson: Steven Lamb and wife Debbie, one step daughter: Janet David and husband Randy both of Sedalia, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by one step daughter: Carolyn Bolar and one son-in-law: Gary Kessner.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday.
