James Edward Collins, 69, of Warsaw, formerly of Kansas City, died Sunday, August  10, 2014, in Warsaw.  He was born on April 2, 1945, at Kansas City, Missouri, a son of Wilburn D. and Roberta L. (Garrison) Collins.

James was a truck driver for Safeway until its Midwest closing and he then drove a truck for Allstate and Ray Miller Trucking.  In 1999, he retired from trucking and moved to Cole Camp .  In 2005, he moved to Warsaw.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed fish frys with his friends and playing music.

He is survived by:  one daughter, Dorthy M. King and her husband Duane of Kansas City;
one son, Tony E. Collins and his wife Lesia of Nevada;
one sister, Patty Phelps of Olathe, KS;
one brother, Timothy D. Collins of Topeka;
a brother-in-law, Lloyd Conclin;
seven grandchildren, Lillian Collins, Elijah Collins, Methos Collins, Amanda Collins, Scotty Miller, Aaron Miller, Dustin Miller, and Stormy Farmer; and
three great-grandchildren, Gabriel Kingman, Rylee Wells, and Sophie Wells.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Roberta Collins, three sisters, Lucille Harp, Kaytie Nortan, and Clara Joe Conclin and one brother, Benjamin D. Collins.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Ozark Tabernacle Church of rural Lincoln, with Rev. Johnny Medlock officiating. Committal services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at South Point Cemetery, Orrick.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Ozark Tabernacle Church or South Point Cemetery in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
