James Lee Brown, 58, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at his home.

He was born October 19, 1954, in San Diego, CA, a son of Bernard and Norma (Ruder) Brown. On May 11, 2007, in Sedalia, he married Renette Cox, who survives of the home.

He served in the US Navy from 1973-1976. He worked at Wire Rope Company, Alcan Cable & Pettis County Road Department. He loved spending time with his wife and his family, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed his motorcycle and coin collecting. He was Catholic.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents, Bernard and Norma Brown, of Fort Dodge, KS; four daughters, Jasmine Strecker (Jason), of Offerle, KS, Danette Renfer (Doug), of Aurora, Il, Jamie Atkinson, of Sedalia, & Heather Carroll (Paul), of Sedalia; four sisters, Julie Durler (Kevin), of Wright, KS, Bonnie Bernbeck (Duane), of Garden City, KS, Joyce Durler, of Dodge City, KS, and Brenda (David) Ackerman, of Dodge City, KS; six grandchildren & many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, a brother, Terry Brown and son-in-law, Jimboe Atkinson.

Funeral services will be 10 am, Monday, November 5, 2012, at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Jim Betzen officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, with full military honors.
