Jerome C. "Jerry" Dick, 63, of Sedalia, died Saturday, October 31, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 24, 1952, a son of the late William C. "Bill" Dick and Earleen Paxton Dick.  On June 20, 1975, at Sacred Heart Church, Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Cynthia "Cindy" Felten, who survives of the home.

He was a 1970 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, Sedalia, and a 1972 graduate of United Electronics Institute, Kansas City, MO, specializing in Electronics Technology.   He worked as an electrician for over 20 years for Medallion Electric, Queen City Electric, and Interior Electric.  He had spent the past 20 years working as a Project Manager, the past 11 of those years for Citadel Electric Group, Inc.  He was a member of IBEW Union Local 124 for over 35 years.  He owned and operated Broadway Car Wash from 1996 to 2005.

He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, where he was active in the parish and school, and he was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 831.  He enjoyed coaching his sons' soccer and baseball teams when they were growing up, and spent many nights each week involved in their extracurricular activities.  He was adamant on education, and made sure that was a priority in all three of his sons' lives.

He enjoyed family vacations.  Road trip destinations included Myrtle Beach, Gulf Shores, Panama City, and Colorado.  His favorite vacation destination was Walt Disney World.

He was devoted to spending time with his grandchildren.  He would construct toys and play sets for them, and enjoyed driving them around on his John Deere Gator.

His passion was construction and remodeling, and, like his father, he was a great handyman.  He had a vast knowledge of the industry and taught people that success is achieved with a strong work ethic, self-discipline, and a positive attitude.  He loved accomplishing tasks, completing projects, and beginning new ones.  He was exceptional at this in his daily work, but what gave him the greatest joy was doing this with his sons.

In addition to Cindy, he is survived by his three sons, Thomas Michael Dick and his wife Julie, of Dardenne Prairie, Paul Jason “P.J.” Dick and his wife Audra, of Sedalia, and Jeffrey Jacob Dick and his wife Holly, of St. Peters; two sisters, Carrie Webb and her husband Roy, of Warsaw, and Laura Mahan, of Sedalia; and eight grandchildren, Kaylee, Everett, Blake, Brooklyn, Corbin, Evelyn, Elliot “Ellie” and Austyn.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, William Bradley Dick.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Sacred Heart Church with Father Mark Miller, C.PP.S. officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

A prayer service will begin at 5 pm, Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with visitation to follow from 5:30 pm-8 pm.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society for Xi Beta Upsilon’s Relay for Life Team in care of the funeral chapel.
