Obituary Joseph Richard Gillespie, 39, of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Sedalia, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Kiefer Holbert, Mitchell Holbert, Keith Holbert, Jr., Howard Tate, Ray Teat and David Teat. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association, or the Sacred Heart Foundation, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. Born August 8, 1973 in Sedalia, he was the son of David and Helen (Teat) Gillespie. He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Beth Holbert and Laura Tanner; two brothers, Matthew and Michael Gillespie; and his paternal grandmother, Helen G. Gillespie. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Gillespie; and his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Elizabeth Teat.

Joseph was raised and educated in Sedalia. He was a1991 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, and attended the University of Missouri. He was a programmer for USA800 in Kansas City.
