John Robert “Bob” Bartlett, 81, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at his home.\

He was born March 1, 1934, in Sedalia, son of Oliver Harry and Grace Wood Bartlett.

On October 25, 1957, in Sedalia, Bob was united in marriage to Betty A. Estill, the love of his life, who survives of the home.

He was an electrician and supervisor for GSA. He was a member of the Grandview Masonic Lodge 618 and the Order of the Eastern Star, Blue Springs Chapter 428. Bob was ornery, witty, a comic, always the jokester and gave great “teddy bear” hugs. Most of all he enjoyed his dog, “Maggie."
Bob served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was a proud veteran and very patriotic. He enjoyed getting to take part in the Honor Flight.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Robin Woods (Jeff), of Liberty, and Tracey Moore (Randy), of Warsaw; four grandchildren, Taylor Cavanaugh (Aaron), Logan Woods, Wesley Moore (Angela), and Spencer Moore (Kourtney); and five great-grandchildren, Henry Cavanaugh, Emily Moore, MacKenzie Moore, Garrett Moore, and Jewel Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Graveside memorial services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Highway 13, in Higginsville, with Jeff Page, Funeral Celebrant officiating. Full military honors will be presented by the U.S. Navy and V.F.W. Post 2591.

The family will receive friends following the service from 2:00 to 4:00 at the family home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or Benton County Hospice.
