St. Louis Cardinals players, alumni and broadcasters will visit Sedalia on Saturday during the St. Louis Cardinals Caravan.

"We're going to have Harrison Bader in, Joe Magrane, Danny Cox, Dakota Hudson is listed on our group, along with Mike Mayers, Chasen Shreve, a left-handed pitcher the Cardinals got from the Yankees, and a good, young, up-and-coming catcher in Andrew Knizner," said Cardinals play-by-play announcer John Rooney, who will be the emcee for the Saturday event. "This is a way of the Cardinals getting out there and saying 'this is what we're going to do in the coming season...what we hope to do' and to get the word out about promotions and ticket availability, and to reach out to fans that can't make it to the Winter Warm-up. It's a win-win deal."

The St. Louis Cardinals Caravan is a free, family-friendly event. "The kids have a great time because they get up close and personal with the players, and the players are great with these kids," said Rooney. "They talk to them, and the kids have questions. The questions are really good and the players have some fun with that and the kids really respond to it. The parents have fun seeing their kids have a good time, as well, and that's what the Cardinals have been about for so many years...I think we had about 71 games last year where there were tickets $10 and under to come to the ballpark...we see those tickets purchased and filled with families."

The St. Louis Cardinals Caravan begins at noon on Saturday, January 19 at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus of State Fair Community College. There is no charge to attend. The first 400 kids 15 and under will receive autograph tickets. "They'll be able to go through the line, get autographs and have a chance to say 'hello' to the players. It is a very good group, and they'll have fun with the kids."
