Jon D. Weatherspoon, 58, of Otterville, MO passed away in his home Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015. Jon was born September 9, 1956 in Truth or Consequences, NM to W.E. and Rita B. (Houde) Weatherspoon, who preceded him in death.

On June 23, 1994, in Gretna, LA, he was united in marriage to Barbara Sudduth, who survives of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Dyann Weatherspoon of Oklahoma City, OK, Joann Prince of O'Fallon, MO, Samantha Arnwine (Jeff) of Sedalia, and Serena Smith (Zach) of Sedalia; a son, Samuel Biggs of Smithton, MO; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Jon proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for many years, retiring in 1996. His service included serving as a recruiter, during which time he had the opportunity to touch the lives of many. After retirement, he taught in the JROTC program at Andrew Jackson High School in LA. He greatly enjoyed his time with his students, with many of his former students and coworkers becoming extended family. The impact he had on the lives of those he encountered during that time has been expressed to his family in the most poignant outpouring of support one could imagine. This outpouring speaks to the man that Jon was.

Jon enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, golfing, woodworking, and being an investigator of the truth. He leaves a legacy of strength, dignity, and integrity, and he will be greatly missed

Jon requested to be cremated and a private memorial to be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the NRA, St. Jude's Childrens' Hospital, or White Tails Unlimited, in his name.

Arrangements under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO.
