Joseph P.G. "Jerry" Hebert, 79, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

He was born January 22, 1935, in Williamstown, VT, son of Joseph Henri and Susinefa "Lucinda" Tousignant Hebert. On May 5, 1967, in Sedalia, he married Lilyan Louise Satterwhite, who preceded him in death on February 15, 1996.

Mr. Hebert worked in graphic arts for Central Missouri State University, working on the college newspaper.

He delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. He was a talented handyman and helped many people fix up houses. He was also a self-taught painter. He was an Air Force veteran, serving in the Security Forces for eight years.

Surviving are four children: David Lees (Shelley), of Savannah, MO, Susan Bryan (David), of Kansas City, MO, Debbie Klatt (Patrick), of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Kenny Lees (Jenine), of Lincoln, MO; five grandchildren, Machelle Minter, Jonathan Lees, Zachary Lees, Erin Klatt and Brandon Klatt; a brother-in-law, Edmund Durocher; and a sister-in-law, Doris Glasgow.

In addition to his parents and wife, Lilyan, he was preceded in death by six siblings: Lillian Giguere, Armand Hebert, Richard Hebert, Yvette McBeth, Simone Durocher and Rosian Pronovost.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Casket bearers will be Jonathan Lees, Zachary Lees, Brandon Klatt, Corey Minter, Scott Holloway and Scott Satterwhite.
Honorary bearers will be Dale Sands, Kenneth Satterwhite, Harry Lynn Satterwhite, Donald Barbour, Jim Fleming and Bret Stephens.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home.
