Major League Baseball has been going on for about a month now, however another Kansas City sports option starts on Thursday (May 15) in Kansas City. The T-Bones are ready to start their fourth season of play in the American Association. They are trying to bounce back from last year's 40-60 record and get into the playoffs for the first time in the American Association.

The Kansas City T-Bones are great entertainment to bring the whole family out to the ballpark and is only about an hour and a half drive away from Sedalia and the Warrensburg area. The entertainment and value is something that Vice President and General Manager Chris Browne loves to see each year.

“Kansas City can look forward to some more fun well done," said Browne. "There will be the nightly promotions and giveaways that fans have come to expect, as well as some new giveaways, too. Mountain Man from Duck Dynasty will be here (June 5) and Jose Canseco will be here (Aug. 3) for a home-run contest. There will be something for everyone at Community America Ballpark this summer.”

The T-Bones will have a new coach try and bring success back to the T-Bones, in John Massarelli, who had great results in his last coaching stint, when he won with the Lake Erie Crushers in their inaugural season in 2009.

“I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far," said Massarelli. "It’s been great since I arrived in Kansas City about 10 days ago. Our guys are very athletic and versatile. We’ve got some good characters on and off the field. The early report is good on this team.”

One familiar face from this area is former Sedalia Bombers catcher, Bubby Williams, who is back with the T-Bones after playing 23 games last season, where he had four home runs, 24 RBI's and a .289 average.

"It’s fun to be back here," said Williams. "We all want to work our tails off and win ballgames.”

Fans of the T-Bones can expect all kinds of promotions during the games and deals throughout the ballpark.

The 2014 regular season starts on Thursday, May 15, against Lincoln at 7:05 p.m. at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618 or at tbonesbaseball.com.
