Kansas City Woman Shoots, Kills Man Who Kicked in Her Front Door

Authorities say a woman has shot and killed a man who kicked in her front door in Kansas City.

Police said in a news release that officers were called to the scene around 11 p.m. Wednesday. Police said a wounded man was found on the front porch and pronounced dead.

The homeowner told police she heard loud banging and knocking on her front door. The release says she retrieved her firearm because she could not see who it was at the door and feared for her safety.

She told police that after the man kicked in the front door, he came after her. The release says the woman then fired her weapon, striking the intruder.
