I think most of us out there have been touched by cancer in one way or another.  Whether it was you, a family member, someone you work with, or a friend, everyone's seen the effects this terrible disease can have.  It can wreak havoc on the body, the spirit and the mind.  The Karen Anstine Lamb Benefit Dinner will be held on Saturday, April 26. This is one group that's working to end the cancer fight here locally.

The expenses of medical treatment can be easily overwhelming, and Karen and her family need our help. The benefit will be held at the First United Methodist Church Celebration Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. There will be a silent auction, a live auction at 7:30 p.m. and a dinner of pulled pork, potato salad and baked beans. The cost for the dinner is $10 for adults, $5 for kids aged 5-11, and kids four years of age and under eat for free.

To donate an item for the silent or live auction, or to purchase dinner tickets, all Amanda Balke at 660-473-1488. Donations can also be made to the Karen Lamb Cancer Benefit Fund, Central Bank Attn: Kayla Thoenen POX Box 1277 Jefferson City, MO 65102. Check out their Facebook page for the latest in updates and photos of all the great stuff they'll have at the auction.

Celebratorily yours,

Behka
