Karen Lynne Boggs, 48

Karen Lynne Boggs, 48, of Sedalia, died Friday, January 1, 2016, at University Hospital in Columbia.

She was born May 26, 1967, in Marshall, daughter of Robert E. Carr, Jr. and Mary M. (Vogl) Carr.

Karen was a 1985 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School and a member of Sacred Heart Church. She worked at the Center for Human Services before receiving her RN certification at SFCC. She worked at Bothwell Regional Health Center and most recently as a traveling nurse. She enjoyed traveling and her dogs.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Mary and Mick Sparey; fiancé Steve Hermanson; two daughters Tiffany Boggs (Jeffrey Boehm) and Stephanie Boggs (Robert Sanders); brother Tim Carr (Amy); nephew Alex Carr; and grandson Weston; all of Sedalia.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be 2 pm, Friday, January 8, 2016 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Leora Bremer officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Thursday, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family in care of the funeral chapel.
