Karen Sue Stone, 53, of Sedalia, died Friday, February 1, 2013 from complications following a lengthy battle with multiple sclerosis.

Karen was born October 5, 1959 in Sedalia, the daughter of L.J. “Bud” and Lucille Stone. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and started a career in banking at Union Savings.

Survivors include her mother, Lucille; sister Linda (Read) Fay, of Vancouver, WA; brother John (Reva) Stone and sister Marcia (Bill) Ingraham, all of Sedalia. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews from the Sedalia and surrounding areas, and long time companion Virgil “Bud” Jerrell.

She was preceded in death by her father, “Bud” Stone; maternal grandparents Raymond and Ida Kempf; paternal grandparents Lester and Josephine Stone; and nephew Marcus Adam Struble.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at Clifton City.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Sacred Heart Church, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be offered online at www.mclaughlinfuneralchapel.com.
