Three of the charging stations are located in the Fielding Technical Center parking lot, next to Clarendon Road, and three are located in the parking area near the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on 16th Street.

The installations are part of KCP&L’s ‘Clean Charge Network’ of more than 1,000 charging stations. According to KCP&L’s website, it is the first and largest electric vehicle charging installation by an electric utility company in the United States.

To use the charging stations, electric vehicle drivers need to sign up for a free Clean Network card at kcpl.com/cleancharge. Those who sign up will receive two cards in the mail that can be swiped to activate any of the stations. There is no fee now to use the stations, but sometime in 2017 KCP&L plans to begin charging a fee.

Other KCP&L charging stations in Sedalia are located in the parking lots of City Hall, located at 200 S. Osage, and Walmart, located at 3201 W. Broadway.
