Kenneth Neil DeHaven, 79, of Sedalia, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2012 at Crown Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Roberta Karchner officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.

Born November 19, 1932 in Sedalia, he was the son of the late Millard E. and Dollie McFatrich DeHaven. On January 20, 1952 in Sedalia, he married Marilyn Schwartz, with whom he remained very close friends with until his death. On September 28, 1988 in Eureka Springs, AR, he married Marjorie McKinney, who preceded him in death on April 5, 1995. He is survived by two sons, Jeff DeHaven and Pat DeHaven, both of Sedalia; a step-daughter, Danielle Bain (Rusty), of Sedalia; two brothers, Willard DeHaven (Gloria), and Gordon “Buzz” DeHaven, all of Sedalia; two sisters, Mary Ditton, of Sedalia, and Jo Anne Foote (Gordon), of St. Charles, MO; a granddaughter, Brittney Gaspard (Graham); five step-grandchildren, Jessica, Natalie, Raime, Sarah and Rusty; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Addison; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. DeHaven was raised and educated in Sedalia, and was a 1950 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He served in the United States Army during Korea. He worked as a pressman for the Sedalia Democrat for 45 years, retiring in 1996. He had a love for cars, especially his old green Chevy truck.
