Kenneth R, Walker, age 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 6, 2014.

He was born January 17, 1930 in Sedalia, Missouri, son on August (Gus) Walker and Nellie L. Demmon Walker.  He attended Whittier Elementary School and graduated from Smith Cotton High School with the Class of 1948.  After graduation he joined the U. S. Air Force and served from 1948-1952.  He spent two and one-half years at Anderson A.F.B. on Guam and was a member of the Air Force Band.  After discharge from the military he worked for Pittsburg Corning in Quality Control.  He later worked with Boeing Company during the installation of the Minuteman Missile Complex at Whiteman A.F.B. Missouri and later on the Aero Space Moon Shot based in Los Angeles, California.  Returning to Missouri in 1970 he became office manager for James H. Drew Corporation from 1970 to 1992 when he retired.

On December 21, 1952 he married Mildred (Millie) McMullin at First Baptist Church in Sedalia, Missouri, by Rev. Thomas Croxton, and she survives of the home.  Also surviving are son, Mitchell Walker and wife Debbie, grandchildren, Greg Butler, Jessica Walker and Jeffrey Walker, all of Sedalia, and Jody Vaca (Louie) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  Sister-in-law Frances Walker, niece, Lauren DeTar, nephews, Bruce Walker and Keith Walker all of, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and many friends and family.  He was predeceased by his parents and brother Eugene E. Walker.

He dearly loved his family and friends and was always the life of the party.  He loved to play practical jokes, and have show-and-tell with all his many whimsical gadgets.  He loved to wow all the children with his magic tricks.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1971, where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Choir member.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 10, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1015 W. 16th Street, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ted Francis and Chaplin Tony Chapman officiating.  Visitation will be at 10:00 AM prior to the services. Pallbearers will be, nephews, Chris Gertson, Todd Gertson, Andrew McMullin, Erich Von Gretzinger, Donald Wilson, and Kelly Birdsong.  Burial will be in the Potter Cemetery located NE of Sedalia approximately 20 miles on Rte. JJ.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Potter Cemetery or to the charity of choice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
